Career and Academic Opportunities

Together, a BSCJ and MPA degree will provide students with the knowledge and skills to have impactful and rewarding careers in the public sector of the justice system. With mastery of theoretical and practical knowledge of criminal justice and public administration, graduates of this Double Owl Pathway will be prepared for advanced, supervisory, and leadership careers in the public sector. Graduates of this pathway will be prepared to obtain a wide range of careers including but not limited to the management of criminal justice practitioners and organizations, state and federal criminal investigation, and policy implementation/data analysis. Students completing this degree track will also achieve skills to promote their success in continued academic achievements such as the pursuit of a law degree or a PhD.

Double Owl Admission Requirements

  • GPA:  3.25 in KSU undergraduate coursework
  • Satisfactory completion of CRJU 3301 (grade of C or higher)
  • 60 hours completed toward Bachelor’s degree (i.e., BS Criminal Justice degree)
  • 30 hours completed in residence at KSU

Double Counted Courses

  • PAD 6200 to count for Upper Division Elective or Related Study
  • PAD 6250 to count for Upper Division Elective or Related Study
  • PAD 6300 to count for Upper Division Elective or Related Study
