Chemistry BS / Teaching Secondary Science MAT

Career and Academic Opportunities

Individuals who complete the BS Chemistry and MAT Secondary Science will be regarded as highly qualified to teach grades 6–12 Chemistry. Having completed the MAT, these individuals are qualified to pursue an advanced degree in education, such as an Education Specialist (EdS), Doctor of Education (EdD), or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), each in a variety of related disciplines. Some MAT graduates may pursue a Masters degree (MA) in Chemistry or similar field.

60 hours completed toward Bachelor's degree
30 hours completed in residence at KSU
Recommendation from 2 KSU faculty

Science Elective (graduate course with CHEM, SCI, or SCED prefix) to count for Integrative Elective
